Welcome to the Kapolei Public Library! Built on land provided to the state in trust by Campbell Estate, our library opened in August 2004. With more than 48,000 registered patrons and visitors, we often have the highest circulation figures among Oahu libraries. One of our most popular programs is Halloween “Fright Night” on Oct. 31!

Parents and caregivers are the first education providers during the 0-5 early critical years. The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge is a simple and fun program that promotes reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers and encourages parent and child bonding through reading. This challenge is a simple, yet fun approach to establishing strong early literacy skills and helps young children gain the confidence necessary to become strong readers.
The concept is simple: read a book, any book to your child, with the goal of reading 1,000 before kindergarten. Each participant will receive a special passport and may have their passports “stamped” for each 100 books read.

We are accepting donations of new or old Pokémon Trading Cards. This program is thanks to a partnership with AASL/ALSC and the Pokémon Company.

Allegro Keiki creates live instrumental musical experiences tailored for the youngest audiences and their caregivers. Driven by a passion for making instrumental and classical music inclusive, accessible and fun, Allegro Keiki offers interactive programs that spark joy and curiosity in little listeners. By blending both familiar and new songs with expressive sensory exploration, these events provide an inspiring and unforgettable introduction to instrumental music for children and their caregivers. Performed by members of O‘ahu’s Kai String Quartet, professional musicians who are also parents themselves. Members of the Kai Quartet are frequent performers with the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra and other local arts and education organizations. After the performance, Allegro Keiki will host an Instrument “Petting Zoo”, an opportunity for keiki and caregivers to get hands on with small violins and cellos. For more information visit Allegro Keiki website or @allegrokeiki on Instagram.
