Join Hālau Hula Ka Noʻeau as they celebrate 40 years of sharing and preserving Hawaiian culture. Led by Michael Pili Pang, this free 45-minute program for all ages blends mele, hula, and storytelling to explore Hawaiʻi’s canoe plants. Discover the legends they carry, the cultural traditions they support, and the lessons they continue to share today. This engaging presentation inspires curiosity, connection, and a deeper appreciation for Hawaiʻi’s living traditions while filling every ʻumeke with new knowledge and understanding.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i. This is a production of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program.

We are back and open!  Join us for a storytime where families can enjoy stories, rhymes, songs, and time for coloring or a small craft. Please bring blankets, mats or something else to sit on! Great fun for children ages 2-5 years, but all are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. Sponsored by the Friends of Kaneohe Library. Do you love reading, but find it hard to commit to book clubs? Join the Silent Book Club!

Participation is simple. Just show up, chat a little (or not!), and read a book of your choice or one from our shelves. There are no assigned books, no deadlines, and no required discussions—just the joy of reading in sociable silence.

This program is suitable for young adults and adults.
