About Kāneʻohe Public Library:
Our library, which opened in its present location in January 1963, was built to serve a community that is both urban and rural. It also serves as a back-up reference and resource library for our Windward public libraries in Kahuku, Kailua, and Waimānalo. The entire family will be educated and entertained by weekly storytimes and our monthly Game & Activity Days, Lego Club, and Movie Nights.

Join Hālau Hula Ka Noʻeau as they celebrate 40 years of sharing and preserving Hawaiian culture. Led by Michael Pili Pang, this free 45-minute program for all ages blends mele, hula, and storytelling to explore Hawaiʻi’s canoe plants. Discover the legends they carry, the cultural traditions they support, and the lessons they continue to share today. This engaging presentation inspires curiosity, connection, and a deeper appreciation for Hawaiʻi’s living traditions while filling every ʻumeke with new knowledge and understanding.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i. This is a production of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program.
